Depor would return to Europe for the 1999/00 season after finishing sixth the previous season.
The shirts used in this competition would vary slightly from those used in La Liga and Copa del Rey. They would all be Adidas equipment shirts with the sponsor applied differently. This could have been due to EUFA regulations, but I can not be sure. Due to the short supply not many are seen in private collections.
Bassir Home UEFA Cup shirt
(D. L. Coruña – Arsenal 9th March 2000)
Shirt issued to Bassir for the home match against Arsenal. Bassir would stay on the bench for the duration of the match.
However the shirt has been laundered and shows signs of ware. Through research I have discovered that it was worn for the home match against Panathinaikos on the 25th Nov 1999.
Naybet Away UEFA Cup shirt
(D. L. Coruña – Montpellier 21st October 1999)
Strangely Depor had to ware there away shirt for this match. Not because of clashing but something to do with UEFA regulations.
This green design was only worn in this match and the sponsor was applied in the same manner as the home shirt.
Jose Ramón home shirt
(La Liga matches 1998/2000)
This shirt was most likely unused as Jose did not play that many matches on his return to Depor.
He joined Depor back in 1987, left in 1995 and would return for the final two seasons of his career in 1998.
He lifted the Copa Del Rey in ’95 (as captain) and was present for the first ever La Liga title in 2000.
Manuel Pablo away shirt
(Used during 1998/1999)
Manuel Pablo’s first season at Depor would see him with the number 17.
This shirt was possibly used in one of the matches against Malaga. These shirts are incredibly rare as they would only be used a handful of times during the two seasons.
Ivan away shirt
(Espanyol – D. L. Coruña 9th January 2000)
Rare Laundered long sleeved shirt used by Ivan Perez during the Liga campaign.
Unfortunately Ivan didn’t play many matches for Depor and would mainly be used as a late sub rather than a starter.
